BIOMES

A biome is a place in the world that has its own climate, elevation, plants and animals.There are different biomes such as Desert,Tundra,Forest,Grassland and Aquatic.Deserts are very hot at day time and are very cold at night time,Tundra is a weird biome because of it being a sunny but just not warm place in some parts, and in some other parts it is snowy.Forests are just plane trees,  however it has nearly every type of animal.

Over the week, we have been preparing for a pitch to convince Jim, Liz or Mrs Dale to put our winning design on to a Notebook, a Notelet, A postcard and some other stationary. Altogether the notebook was the most popular throughout the 5/6 classes as pupils thought is was the object that would give Leeds City Museum a bigger profit than the others.We have really enjoyed this past week doing when pitching!

In topic for the past few weeks we have been creating designs that will be applied to products in the Leeds City Museum our task was to create an original, fresh design for 2012, The Olympics,The Diamond Jubilee and summer.We then Pitched our designs in hope that they would win and be applied onto a product. When the winning design was chosen we Decided which product we wanted it to go on (between a notebook,note let or post card) we then made an advert and pitch for the winning design. We used iMovie (for the advert)on the MacBooks/apple macs to make an advert we then exported the finished outcomes which were outstanding.We did the pitches in literacy and when they where of a high standard we presented them to either Liz, Jim or Mrs Dale they are now in the hard process of choosing the winning product! I have really enjoyed the past few weeks.

Becca and Charlotte review

This week we have been writing a pitch to poswade persuade Liz, Jim and Mrs Dale to Choose the notebook and put the winning design on. On Thursday the 24th of may 2012, we pitched to Liz she said that our advert was "amazing" and the music really fitted in on what the advert was trying to say visually. She said we were the first people to mention "research." This is an example of one of the paragraphs we created. Paragraph 1: We feel that a notebook will prove to be a best seller in your store as it can be made available in a range of sizes. From our research, we've found A4 and A7 the most popular choice of size, therefore we suggest it would be a good staring point to first of all manufacture these sizes and see how sales go from there.
